Biography

In 2005, three dedicated young musicians, each of them just having been distinguished by the German Music Council through the award of a scholarship, met to form the “Trio Con Anima” in Berlin: the cellist Christine Rauh, who here is portrayed extensively, joined forces with Stefan Albers, prize-winning flutist and principal orchestral player, and with Hansjacob Staemmler, renowned pianist and virtuoso chamber player. The ambiguous name chosen for the ensemble alludes to a profession and to a programme at the same time, viz. performing and touching the listeners with both heart and mind. It is among the greatest endeavours of the “Trio Con Anima” to achieve these goals in their renditions of the subtle chamber music for flute, cello and piano available from the period of the baroque up to the present day.
The “Trio Con Anima” set about its concert activities in 2006, touring across the whole of Germany, and was instantly received with enthusiasm by the public and by the press alike. Hailed as an ensemble of top rank, the “Trio Con Anima” now looks forward to widen its repertoire and to also appear abroad.
